Markus Zusak
This year’s special guest, Markus Zusak, is the acclaimed author of six novels, including The Book Thief, I am the Messenger and Bridge of Clay. His work is translated into over fifty languages, and has spent more than a decade on the New York Times bestseller list. He lives and works in Sydney, Australia, with his family (and one wild dog).
Nancy Reagin
Dr. Nancy Reagin is a professor of European history and gender studies at Pace University in New York City, where she has served in a variety of faculty and administrative leadership positions. She earned her Ph.D. in history from the Johns Hopkins University, and is the author or editor of nine books and a number of articles in modern German history, comparative German-American history, and media studies. Her research has focused on the history of gender, nationalism and national identities, the development of European consumer cultures, and the history of fan communities, particularly those organized around genre literature. She served as the editor of the Pop Culture and History series for Wiley & Sons, and is currently editing a handbook on the history of global consumption for Routledge. Her research has been supported by fellowships and grants from a variety of sources, including the U.S. National Endowment for the Humanities, the Deutscher Academischer Austauschdienst, and the Fulbright Program.
Jean-Hugues Adam
Jean-Hugues Adam est né en 1993 en Belgique. Il y a étudié l’Information et la Communication ainsi que l’Agrégation de l’Enseignement Secondaire Supérieur. Après avoir travaillé deux ans dans une Organisation de Jeunesse promouvant l’interculturalité, il part vivre l’immersion culturelle pendant 16 mois en Autriche, Ukraine, Turquie… De retour en Belgique, il enseigne « philosophie et citoyenneté » à Bruxelles et se forme parallèlement au FLE (Français Langue Etrangère). Sa certification en poche, il arrive à Iași en tant que Lecteur de français à l’Université Alexandru Ioan Cuza.
Ştefana Iosif
Ștefana IOSIF, PhD, is a junior lecturer in the English Department of the Faculty of Letters (Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași). Her doctoral thesis, Intersecting Identities. Explorations of the Self in Jewish-American Autobiographical Writing, explored the autobiographical writings of Jewish-American authors. She is an avid feminist and humanist, taking a special interest in social and cultural issues. She lives a quiet life in Iași, with her husband and their cat.
Neus Langa Chordá
Neus Langa Chordá es una profesora de catalán con una amplia experienca en la enseñanza de idiomas. Nacida y criada en la Comunidad Valenciana, España, comenzó su camino académico obteniendo el grado de Traducción e Interpretación en la Universidad Jaume I de Castellón. Poco después, obtuvo un máster en Educación Secundaria, Bachillerato y Formación Profesional en la Universidad de Valencia.
Durante su carrera professional, ha desempeñado roles diversos en la enseñanza del catalán. Ha trabajado como profesora en varios institutos de la Comunidad Valenciana y ha colaborado como preparadora de catalán para adultos en la Academia Adams de Valencia. Además, también ha contribuido como examinadora de pruebas orales de catalán en la Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Denia, evaluando a los estudiantes en los niveles de C1 y C2.
Actualmente, reside en Bucarest, donde ha llevado su experiencia y conocimientos al ámbito universitario. Seleccionada por el Instituto Ramón Llull, empezó a trabajar como lectora de catalán en la Universidad de Bucarest, donde imparte clases en los grados de Filología y Traducción e Interpretación. Además, colabora activamente enseñando español en el Instituto Cervantes de Bucarest.

Cristina Chiusano
Ana Cristina Chiusano (PhDc) is a part-time professor at Universidad de Montevideo, Uruguay, and member of the research group “Cuestiones del Lenguaje” at Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, Argentina, and of the Oxford English Dictionary Study Group. She has participated in different local and international conferences on Applied Linguistics and has been awarded Erasmus+ Mobilities for training and teaching in the UK, Spain and Romania.
Mihai Bulai
Mihai Bulai is a graduate of both Geography and French language, currently a university full-time lecturer at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, and vice-dean for International Relations. His first experiences have been in the private sector, such as French and English translations, hospitality, airport handling services, and teaching French and Geography to High schools. He defended his PhD thesis in 2011 on the subject of geographical accessibility and tourism development.
He coordinated the Tourism Strategies and Masterplans for the city of Iași (2nd largest city in Romania) and the Neamț County (top 10 Romanian tourist counties), projects in thematic tourist routes, sustainable cities, and cultural heritage. His research interests are in tourism planning and development, tourism planning, human capital, and urban policies, urban ecology, environmental impacts of tourism, food waste, tourism circularity, post-war tourism solidarity, future tourism ruins, and cultural mediation in tour guiding.
